From the Head of Department
The aim of the Department of Interior Architecture is to train designers who define, research and produce solutions to design problems directly related to the function and quality of interior spaces. It contributes to the awareness of students in design analysis, site planning, construction site supervision, construction systems and elements, and the selection of appropriate tools and materials.
As a result of developing technology and social development, it is aimed to reflect the common characteristics of science and art, to highlight visuality and to provide solutions to the indispensable elements of life. In this context, the way is paved for students to be guided towards design principles that are suitable for social differentiation in cultural levels and economic issues.
In our Interior Architecture Department, it is accepted that art is reflected in spaces where it is intertwined with life and that cultural values and human life values are carried to other generations. Our cultural infrastructure ensures that the spatial richness created so far is met with acceptable criteria suitable for current conditions and new phenomena. Doğuş University, Faculty of Art and Design, Interior Architecture Department has created education and training rules based on past experiences. In the process of students taking their professional place in society, a basic way of providing technical equipment with a contemporary interpretation and an original way of acquiring environmental art concepts and spatial solutions has been selected. As a result of the examinations and researches, students are provided with original ideas and competencies with a one-on-one education model, and studies are carried out to interpret art in the light of basic knowledge of technical rules. Doğuş University, Interior Architecture Department aims to train the interior architects of the future.
