ARCHITECTURE

Aim: To provide the student with experience and skills in the process following the implementation of the theoretical knowledge.  The aim of the internship of the students of the Department of Architecture is to recognize the working environments in the sector in which they are educated, to facilitate the transition to business life after graduation and to reinforce the knowledge acquired during the course of practice.  Students, I. and II.  must complete an internship for 60 totally working days

1. INTERNSHIP (30 working days / 6 weeks)

In the office internship; The aim of the training is to gain experience in the production and presentation of projects such as design, preliminary project and application drawing, preparation of survey and restoration project, model and presentation of projects produced in the fields of architecture and urban design. Office internship can be done in architecture, civil engineering, urban design, urban planning and surveying-restoration offices and construction firms which are approved by the internship commission.

2. INTERNSHIP (30 working days / 6 weeks)

In the internship of the construction site, it is aimed that the students gain experience about the various phases of the construction work such as rough work and fine structure of the building production, detail production, cost analysis and discovery. Site internship can be done in architecture, civil engineering, urban design, urban area planning and survey-restoration firms which are approved by the internship commission.

GRAPHİC (TURKISH/ENGLISH)

The student has to do at least 40 working days internship in two stages.
Aim: In 8 semesters covering 4 years; graphic students who are educated in a discipline consisting of theory, laboratory and applied studies
they are targeted to adapt. The aim of this course is to enable them to recognize the working environments and work arrangements in the sector, to create a structure that will help them to choose the appropriate graphic design branch as a graphic designer within the working areas of the sector and to reinforce their knowledge that will enable the development of their interests during this period. Students I. and II. 40 workdays internship stages.

1.INTERNSHIP (duration of at least 15 working days / 3 weeks)

During this internship period, the student learns the places where a graphic designer works and the practices of the workflow in the business according to the branch of study. Students will be able to learn the application techniques of an emerging graphic design. Combines the first theoretical knowledge in practice. Graphical work and information on work discipline during the internship are recorded by summarizing each day in a program and giving information about the work done. The internship will enhance the design practice by reinforcing the graphic programs it receives in education in the application areas, recognizing the materials in the fields of printing and printing

2.INTERNSHIP (duration of at least 25 working days / 5 weeks)

In this internship period, the works, within the working structure of the sector as a graphic designer in the field he deems appropriate for himself; packaging, interactive multimedia, media and broadcast graphics. Before starting the internship for these areas, the student has to get the opinion of the program advisor and submit the program to the relevant Department Internship Commission.

FASHION DESIGN 

The aim; the students of Dogus University Faculty of Art and Design Department of Fashion Design make theoretical and practical studies in the courses they have taken during their four-year education and training. The students of the department of Fashion Design are expected to be proficient in textile and fashion, who have the necessary knowledge and experience in the field and develop a sense of responsibility in the projects to be completed. For this, besides the education of the Fashion Design student; to provide the students with an understanding of the working environments and work patterns in the sector, to create an infrastructure that will help them to choose the appropriate branch as a fashion designer in their field of study they are expected to do an internship. Students for the Ist and IInd Internship are obliged to do a total of 45 working days internship.

1. INTERNSHIP (LASTS 20 WORKING DAYS / 4 WEEKS)

During the first internship, students of Department of Fashion Design; Before starting the internship in the fields, the program advisor must get the opinions and approval. Students will be able to obtain comprehensive information about both the operating conditions and the application areas of textile and apparel technologies. In addition, the student develops his knowledge by studying the technological developments related to the field. In addition to the education of Fashion Design student, he has the opportunity to know the sector by doing his / her internship in the field and by finding the needs for this field; he has the opportunity to improve himself until the graduation. In the internship, students can learn different materials and techniques in the field of weaving, printing and clothing, and have the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge they get in education.

 

Students in the field of internships; learn the work flow practice of the business according to the place and the working arm in which it works and records what it has learned in the internship book. The internship notebook also contains pages following the study program. These pages contain forms that show the breakdown of the work done during the days of the week. Forms must be filled in each day and approved by the responsible manager who checks the work at the end of the week. At the end of the internship book, there are pages that the student will report the internship subjects specified in the internship program in detail according to their duration, daily / weekly studies in detail and fill in according to the department / program requirements. These pages are filled and approved by the student as required. The number of pages of the internship book cannot be less than the number of the days of the internship.

2. INTERNSHIP (LASTS 25 WORKİNG DAYS / 5 WEEKS)

In the second internship period, the student chooses the sector according to his / her area of study ; the weaving, printing, garment design areas should be completed. Before starting the internship for these areas, the student will have to get advice from the program consultant and present the program to the internship commission.

3. INTERNSHIP EXAM

The internship committee evaluates the criteria and the internship book which are submitted to the internship evaluation form within 1 month at the latest. As a result of the evaluation, the student who gets 50 and over 50 points is considered successful from the internship. Students who are unsuccessful will be given two further internships during their formal  study period.

When evaluating the file, internship commission checks the file in terms of shape and contents. Should the file found  sufficient, they accept the student's internship; or they may find  it necessary to make an interview with the student or make  necessary arrangements.

B) FASHION DESIGN DEPARTMENT
1- Each student has to do his / her internship, which is 45 working days in the periods of vacation; 15 days each in the weaving, printing and clothing subjects, in the establishments approved by the internship commission of Department of Fashion Design.

2- Students can find their internship places themselves. In this case, the student can apply to the internship commission by completing the internship place notification form by the end of March. In order for the application to be accepted, the company that the internship will be completed must complete the ”Dogus University Internship Acceptance Form and the internship commission should approve this proposal. The students who have completed their internship places can start their internship by taking the approved internship notebook; the letter written to the company they will do internship and the student evaluation form.

3- The students submit the Internship Student Evaluation Form and the internship book at the latest three weeks of the school year following the internship commissions of the relevant units. Students who do not submit these documents within the deadline are deemed not to have done their internship.

4- The content of the internship notebook should reflect the work of the student. In the internship notebook, pictures must be drawn according to the technical drawing rules. The contents of the notebook should reflect the knowledge and skills acquired by the student. The student should indicate the information he / she obtained in the course of the practical training period with the training received.

5- The internship commission makes an evaluation by examining the criteria and the internship book in the appraisal student evaluation form.

6- The contents and section titles of the Internship Files should be as follows:

Internship Book Content

The internship book should be at least 20 pages in A4 size under the headings below. Text; Schema will be supported with narrative elements such as diagrams, photos, product samples. (Internship Book can be accessed from our website.)

VISUAL COMMUNICATION DESIGN 

Aim:  The aim is to help the Visual Communication Design Department students gain momentum and be able to adapt to the working life easily after graduation and to further develop, consolidate and improve the gains they have gained during their education and enable them to progress in the branches they are interested in.

Internship IV and VI will be held during the summer holidays at the end of the semester. During this internship period, students work in departments including multimedia, advertising, press, cinema and TV. Gains knowledge and experience in technical subjects in these fields. The student finds the opportunity to compare the information acquired in education in daily work. Process new acquisitions in coordination with the internship book. During this internship period, the student records the information and experiences summarizing how the studies are conducted in the internship book.

 

INTERIOR ARCHITECTURE

Aim: To provide the student with experience and skills in the process following the implementation of the theoretical knowledge.  The aim of the internship of the students of the Department of Interior Architecture is to recognize the working environments in the sector in which they are educated, to facilitate the transition to business life after graduation and to reinforce the knowledge acquired during the course of practice.  Students, I. and II.  must complete an internship for 60 totally working days.

1. INTERNSHIP (duration of at least 25 working days / 5 weeks)

This internship which will start at the end of IV. semester, is to get the students to practice the functions of creating spaces and arranging the functions that will respond to human actions.  In the synthesis of materials used in indoor and outdoor spaces and environmental areas towards visual perception, the student will follow the practices he / she participated in during the internship with the information obtained from the education.  The ongoing practical work will be summarized in the internship book every day in the content of a program and information will be given about the work done.  Internship, exhibition, sales, production, marketing, interior arrangement, equipment application and construction will include fine structure applications.  Selected business branches include furniture stores, exhibition stands, kitchen, bathroom, flooring and so on.  productions are comprehensive.

2. INTERNSHIP (duration of at least 35 working days / 7 weeks)

Internship at this stage, especially in the production of furniture and wooden elements, especially metal joinery, plaster and paint, floor

and wall covering workshops will do.   The student will submit a program to the related Internship Committee before starting the internship for this program.

INDRUSTRIAL PRODUCTS DESIGN

Aim: The aim of the course is taking place in the 8th semester that enable the students of Industrial Design who are educated in a discipline consisting of theory, laboratory and applied studies to adapt to the developing technology of the post-graduate age. The aim of the internship is to create a structure that will help them to choose the appropriate Industrial Product Design branch as an Industrial Product Designer within the working areas of the sector and to reinforce the knowledge that will enable them to develop their interests during their education. The student has to do 60 days of internship in two stages.

1st Internship:

Duration: 30 work day duration / six week

Department: R&D Department

The student examines the workflow according to the characteristics of the industry in an office or a factory where an industrial product designer works. Students are informed about the application techniques and materials. Make observations about product production process. During the internship, this information is obtained from the company within the 

program drawing, photos and explanations supported by a study (approved by the company's technical manager) in the internship book.

2nd  Internship: 

Duration:30 work day duration / six week

Department: R&D department of the sector to be specialized + Project Planning Department

The student chooses a sector (white goods, furniture, automotive, glass, packaging, shoes, jewelry, etc.) that he wants to specialize with the approval of his advisor. It conducts its studies in the company's R&D or project department. Takes part in research, development and application of the projects. Conducts research on subjects that will constitute preparation for the graduation project. Prepare the drawings, photographs and researches (which is approved by the company design manager) during the internship according to take place in the internship book.

GASTRONOMY AND CULINARY ARTS

Student must complate a minimum of 50 working days internship in two stages. Companies that work every day of the week cannot exceed 6 internship days per week.

Aim: The aim of the internship studies in the Department of Gastronomy and Culinary Arts is to provide the students with theoretical and practical lessons blended with practical courses to consolidate their knowledge and experience in the field of study. Internship activities aim to facilitate the transition of students to work life after graduation and to create the infrastructure to help them choose the fields of interest.

1. INTERNSHIP (duration at least 20 working days / 4 weeks)

The student will do his first internship at the end of the 4th semester during the summer break. During the internship, expected to the student is observe the workflow applied in the food and beverage production sector. Observes and evaluates the processes during food and beverage production and the effects of these processes on each other. Learns the factors affecting food safety and practices for food safety. He / she finds the opportunity to apply the theoretical knowledge he / she gained during the training process practically and records the new acquisitions he / she has gained during the internship book.

2. INTERNSHIP (duration at least 30 working days / 6 weeks)

The student will do his 2nd internship at the end of the 6th semester during the summer vacation. In the internship at this stage, the student finds the opportunity to reinforce by applying the knowledge acquired during the previous internship period. Acts in processes applied in collective food and beverage companies (such as preparation, production) and / or departments (such as hot kitchen, cold kitchen, patisserie). Records his work (supported by visual materials such as photographs) in the internship book.

At the end of both internship periods, after the submission of the internship book, the student presents his / her work during the internship orally to the internship commission.
