Minor and Double-Major Programmes
DOUBLE
MAJOR PROGRAM
The
purpose of the double major program (DMP) is to ensure that the
students who successfully carry out the diploma programs they are
enrolled in can also study in order to receive a diploma in a second
branch.
Application
and Admission Requirements for the Double Major Program
- Double
Major applications are made to the Registrar's Office with the
application form and transcript on the dates announced in the
academic calendar.
- The
student can apply for a Double Major program at the earliest of the
3rd and at the beginning of the 5th semester of the major
undergraduate program. In the major associate degree program, they
can apply at the beginning of the second semester at the earliest
and at the beginning of the third semester at the latest.
- In
order for a student to apply for a Double Major, he / she must have
successfully completed all the courses in the undergraduate /
associate degree program that he / she attended until the semester
he / she applied. The grade point average (GPA) must be at least
2.72 and must be in the top 20% in terms of success in the relevant
class of the major program.
- Among
the students who have a GPA of at least 2.72 in the major program
but do not rank in the top 20% of the relevant class of the major
diploma program, those who have a score not less than the base score
of the Double Major program in the relevant year can also apply to
the Double Major program.
- Students
who study in Turkish programs and want to do a Double Major in
English programs must pass the DÜİYES exam or document that they
have been successful in international and national exams accepted by
the authorized units of Doğuş University.
- If
foreign students, whose mother tongue is not Turkish, wish to do a
Double Major program in programs conducted in Turkish, they must
certify that their knowledge of Turkish is sufficient by taking the
exams of the relevant institutions.
- Candidates
who apply to Doğuş University's programs that require special
skills must pass the special talent exams to be held by the
aforementioned programs.
- In
case the number of applications exceeds the quota determined by the
Faculty / Vocational School, priority is given to the one with a
high grade point average. When the GPA is equal, the student's
percentage of success in the major program is considered.
- Student
applications that meet the necessary conditions are sent to the
relevant Faculty Deanships and Vocational School Directorate by the
Directorate of Student Affairs. Admission to the Double Major is
finalized with the decision of the Faculty / Vocational Board of
Directors one week before the "Course Registration" date
in the academic calendar.
- It
is not possible to enroll in more than one double major program at
the same time. However, you can enroll in a double major and a minor
program at the same time.
- Students
studying in daytime education programs can only do a Double Major in
daytime education programs, while students studying in evening
education programs can only do a Double Major in evening education
programs.

MINOR
PROGRAM:
The
aim of the minor program is to ensure that students who successfully
continue their undergraduate program are informed about another
branch of their interest.
Application
and Admission Requirements for the Minor Program
- The
student can apply to the minor program at the earliest of the 3rd
semester of the undergraduate program in which they are registered,
and at the beginning of the 6th semester at the latest.
- Applications
for a minor program; It is submitted to the Registrar's Office with
the application form and transcript on the announced dates.
- In
order for a student to apply for a minor program, they must have
successfully completed all credit courses in the undergraduate
program in which they applied until the semester they applied, and
the GPA at the time of application must be at least 2.50.
- Students
who study in the Turkish department and wish to do a minor in
English departments must pass the DUİYES exam or document that they
have been successful in international or national exams accepted by
the authorized units of Doğuş University.
- If
foreign students, whose mother tongue is not Turkish, wish to do a
minor in the programs conducted in Turkish, they must certify that
their knowledge of Turkish is sufficient by taking the Turkish
proficiency tests of the relevant institutions.
- Candidates
who apply to Doğuş University's programs that require special
skills must pass the special talent exams to be held by the
aforementioned programs.
- In
case the number of applications exceeds the quota determined by the
faculty, priority is given to the one with a high grade point
average. When the GPA is equal, the student's percentage of success
in the major program is considered.
- Student
applications that meet the required conditions are sent to the
relevant faculties by the Directorate of Student Affairs and become
final with the decision of the relevant administrative boards at the
latest one week before the "Class Registration" date
announced in the academic calendar.
- It
is not possible to register for more than one minor program at the
same time. However, you can enroll in a double major and a minor
program at the same time.
Digital
Game Design Department students are offered the opportunity to do a
minor in many departments of Doğuş University Faculty of Art and
Design.
